Forge Your Future Sunnsyide Experience

RIASEC Framework

RIASEC codes represent six personality types and assist with linking personal strengths, interests, and values to career options. RIASEC is an acronym for the six types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. ECESC has developed six classrooms at Sunnyside Education Center, each representing one of the six RIASEC types, which will become a career exploration opportunity for students in our region. You can learn more about the RIASEC framework here.

ECESC Learning Journeys Task Force

We are looking for innovative educators to assist in the creation of learning journeys for the Forge Your Future Sunnyside Experience. This experience will allow students in East Central Indiana to explore their strengths, interests, and values through the lens of the RIASEC framework, and to make connections to future career opportunities. If you are interested in serving on the task force, see the information below for details.

About the Task Force

Timeline: Task force work will run April 30, 2024, through June 21, 2024.

Compensation: ECESC will compensate each task force participant up to $1800. Once materials are submitted and approved, ECESC will provide an invoice form for participants to request payment. Participants will sign a consultant agreement with ECESC, and must also submit a W9 form to receive payment—see samples below. Payment schedule will be determined by ECESC.

Activities:

RIASEC Professional Development: Some participants may not yet be familiar with the RIASEC. A brief training will be provided for participants to help familiarize them with the types and the purpose of the Sunnyside Experience.

RIASEC Learning Journeys: Participants will work in pairs to complete one student learning journey that will guide students through each letter of the RIASEC. A learning journey will consist of six different activities (15 minutes each) that allow students to explore an industry sector through the lens of each RIASEC theme. Each activity in a learning journey will require a lesson plan that includes set up instructions, supply list teacher/facilitator instructions, student instructions, and specific career-connected content. All six activities in a learning journey should align to tell a story about the industry sector. ECESC will determine the industry sectors highlighted in the learning journeys and will provide a list of assets such as equipment, VR experiences, and learning activities that will be incorporated into the learning journeys.

Meetings/Collaboration: Participants are expected to be in attendance for the following:
